The gallery houses a unique collection of all forms of portraiture of people who have made or are currently contributing to British history and culture. I deliver on their learning programme engaging with schools, youth and community groups. Active participation, dialogue, questioning and exploration is central to how I engage audiences.

The programme offer includes History and Art focussed sessions exploring portraiture through the Collection and/or exhibition programme taking place in the Learning Centre and galleries. History sessions include the Tudors, Rights and Activism, Black British History, Empire and Colonisation, Migration to Britain 1500s to present day and transatlantic slavery. Art sessions include drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, digital, mixed media and collage. They also offer creative sessions for SEND school groups.
