Poppy’s practice is based on social and environmental justice principles, which recognise that many individuals seeking out a therapist have experienced societal rejection or discrimination. She utilises a trauma-informed lens in her work, which acknowledges how different aspects of a person’s identity interact and affect their experiences. She is committed to lifelong learning, engaging in a range of self-reflexive processes to consider the rich cultural and racial experiences of her diverse clients. Her affirmative practice hopes to move away from pathology, recognising the benefits of cultivating joy, goodness and the importance of establishing a more meaningful sense of self.
