Rural Arts,

North Yorkshire

Employment as an Outreach Intern for 6 months in 2016 and

as their Full-time Community Engagement Officer until March 2019.

During my time working for the charitable arts organisation, I managed a children and young person’s art club and took ownership of the implementation and delivery of Arts Award. I recruited a team of volunteers, managed an apprentice and commissioned various freelance art practitioners to support the organisation’s programme activity.

By managing various projects within the outreach department, I was able to build an maintain partnerships with community organisations, charities, support centres and those in the formal and informal education sector.

I gained a wealth of experience during my time at the organisation, leading on the delivery of projects with varying outcomes and priorities, helping reach individuals who were often vulnerable, isolated, elderly and those who have special educational needs.

The organisation hosts a wide range of artistic and cultural opportunities. My role also required me to devise and deliver the in-house visual arts programme, creating artistic and interpretive workshop resources for a wide range of audiences whilst also coordinating the studio.
