Yorkshire Sculpture International 2019

Employment as their Volunteer Coordinator for an 8 month fixed contract between March 2019 - October 2019.

Following HR guidelines, I recruited, trained and supervised a team of 65 volunteers within a festival and gallery environment.

Managing the logistics and practical delivery of a busy cross-site programme of events to enable volunteers to participate in talks, courses, workshops, tours, symposia and undertake gallery invigilation and audience engagement tasks.

Through the festival, I supported the development of long term relationships with key stakeholders and the partner galleries, The Hepworth Wakefield, Leeds Art Gallery, Yorkshire Sculpture Park and The Henry Moore Institute, developing opportunities aligned to their existing programmes.

During my role I also supported the planning and delivery stages of the public facing programme and led sculpture tours for the general public.

Working for the festival, enabled me to draw on my strengths of working within allocated budgets, resources and timeframes, but also in applying the principles of inclusivity, equality and diversity in all aspects of my working practice.
