2021 Annual Teaching Awards: Community Learning Teacher of the Year

Employment starting in August 2019 - November 2021

Delivery of learning and wellbeing activity which meets the needs of local communities and businesses with a focus on apprentices, the unemployed and those furthest away from the labour market. Exercising a commitment to teaching that is accessible and takes into account the diverse needs of the learners.

The role operates within the Ofsted framework in the development and delivery of accredited and non-accredited learning activity. I put into place appropriate systems to record the achievement and progression of learners whilst also producing scheme of works, lesson plans and risk assessments.

Partners that I have worked with include MIND, Mencap, Citizens Advice, The Careers Service, Horizons, Living Well Yorkshire, North Yorkshire Youth and The Alzheimers Society.

As part of family learning delivery I have also worked with schools across the Hambleton and Richmondshire area.

Accredited course delivery includes L1 and L2 Creative Crafts.
